Holy Family is a member of
the Interfaith Council (IFC) for Social Services, an ecumenical
organization which operates a Community Kitchen serving three
meals a day, seven days a week to any hungry person; a Homeless
Shelter; a Crisis Intervention program for local families; a
live-in program called Homestart for families in transition to
permanent housing; and an administrative office. All of these
programs are in constant need of volunteers. Holy Family
parishioners prepare and serve meals, pick up and sort food, serve as
receptionists and interviewers, participate in Crop Walk and RSVVP
fundraisers, and help in many other ways. Contact Jane Humm
(919-942-1061) or Rosalie Hammond (933-2258) for more information.

The third Sunday of the month is always
IFC Pantry Sunday!! You can bring food to Holy
Family for the InterFaith Council Food Pantry at any time.
There is always a need for basics such as peanut butter and jelly, dry
and canned food, and personal care items. Just leave (non-perishable) food in the narthex, or
contact Leslie Frauenfelder (403-8863) for more information. Or if you'd rather, you can
deliver the donations directly to IFC at their new address: 110 W. Main St.,
Carrboro.

You can donate food to the hungry around the world for free by visiting
The Hunger Site (see icon below).

neighbor" while you did this? Follow the link for more information on Holy
Family's connection to SHARE, a national nonprofit organization
with affiliates in all 50 states.
