Liturgy Commission

The Liturgy Commission meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm in the Carmichael Room in the church.

The Liturgy Commission and its sub-divisions form a support structure for the Rector and the worship of the parish.  There are approximately 210 people involved in some way in the areas of the Commission's responsibilities. The committee helps the Rector plan and organize special liturgies as well as regular Sunday liturgies.

Outreach Commission

The Outreach Commission meets the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Church Library.

The Outreach Commission seeks to assist members of the parish in the call of Christ to "love our neighbors as ourselves." The committee's activities help increase awareness of and involvement in social concerns at the local, national, and global levels.

The Christian Education Commission typically meets the second Sunday of each month from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in Room 106 of the Day Care Commons Area (Christian Education Commission Schedule).

The Christian Education Commission serves the Church of the Holy Family, its members and visitors, by developing and implementing Christian formation opportunities for the entire parish; working in conjunction with the Director of Christian Education, Rector, other Commissions, and Vestry to expand Christian formation opportunities; and praying for the life of the community.

Responsibilities include:
10:05am Sunday Christian Education hour for children and youth
     Registration of children and youth
     Curriculum development and review
     Teacher recruitment, training, and assignment
     Parent orientation and encouragement
             

Annual Special Children and Youth Liturgies  
     (e.g., Christmas Eve, Candlemas, Epiphany, All Hallows' Eve, etc.)

Seasonal Children's Festivals

     (e.g. Christmasfest, Easterfest)

Nursery Committee

     Sunday morning

     Scheduling of other child care for parish programming and liturgies

Fellowship Commission

The Fellowship Commission meets the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 pm in the Library.

The mission of the Fellowship Commission at the Church of the Holy Family is to promote love and care for individuals and for the corporate Christian Family.  If interested in serving on this committee, please contact Deb Newcomb at 968-8441.

Evangelism and Discipleship Commission

The Evangelism & Discipleship (E&D) Commission meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the conference room.

The E&D Commission is charged with helping the parish bring people to Christ and helping parishioners grow in Christ.  This commission serves as a coordinator for the several discipleship, evangelism, and renewal ministries in which Holy Family is involved.

Properties Commission

The Properties Commission meets the last Monday of each month at 6:00 pm in the Church Library.

This Commission is responsible for the maintenance of all physical aspects of the rectory, church buildings, equipment, and grounds. With the assistance of the Sexton, the Commission addresses current needs, plans for the future, and implements plans approved by the Rector and Vestry.

Finance Commission

Holy Family Day Care Board

The Holy Family Day Care Board meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm in the Carmichael Room at the church.

The mission of the Holy Family Day Care Center, operating as the primary outreach of the Church of the Holy Family, is to provide high quality child care and age appropriate education to children of low to middle income families.

  • We believe that a positive start during the first five years of life is critical to a child's future.
  • We believe that each child is unique and deserves respect.
  • We believe that a child's pre-school experience is enhanced when parents and teachers work together as partners.
  • We believe that having an ethnically diverse clientele and staff leads to a richer experience for all.

We seek to provide:

  • a positive work environment, treating our staff as professionals, by paying them reasonable wages, generous benefits and allowing them autonomy in their classrooms.
  • an environment that is rich in language, art and sensorial exploration, thus complementing the children's home life.

Youth Commission

The Youth Commission will meet in the Library on Monday, August 14, 2006 at 6:30pm. The Commission will meet on the following Sundays at 12:30pm in the Library: November 5th, January 14th, and April 22nd.

Responsibilities include:

 Assisting the Youth Minister in the coordination of Junior and Senior EYC
Supporting the Journey in Faith youth component
Facilitating parish communications about youth programs
