Event Descriptions
October 5
RBC Center Hockey Exhibit — Raleigh, N.C.
The Carolina Hurricanes and the Society of North Carolina Archivists (SNCA) welcome you to "The Puck on Tobacco Road," an exhibit about the men and women who have played hockey in Charlotte, Raleigh, Fayetteville, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and the North Carolina mountains since the 1950s. We invite you to walk around the RBC Center concourse in order to learn about different aspects of the North Carolina hockey tradition.
The exhibit will be up for games on October 5, 10, and 13th. Directions are available from the RBC Center website.

Guest Speakers on Archival Topics - Chapel Hill
The School of Information and Library Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill will be hosting several guest speakers, including Dr. Robert Martin, former director of the Institute of Museum and Library Services and Lillian Bradshaw Endowed Chair at Texas Woman’s University.

Guilford College: Tour, Exhibit and Trivia
Guilford College's Friends Historical Collection, which includes the college's archives, is joining with other cultural institutions around the state to celebrate Archives Week. The theme for this year is "Capturing Memories of Sports and Leisure in the Old North State." A display about this history of sports at Guilford College will be on exhibit at the entrance to the collection in Hege Library. Additional images and Guilford sports history information will be available at www.guilford.edu/fhc.
Join us to learn more about Guilford's archives by participating in our annual Archives Week trivia contest or taking a "Behind-the-Scenes" Tour. An evening tour is available by advanced reservation on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 6:45 p.m. Other tours will be on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 1:00, and Thursday, Oct. 23, at 4:00.
