Who are we?

The Women's Forum of North Carolina, Inc. is an invitational, non-partisan organization of diverse women leaders of proven influence. Its members are dedicated to working together to achieve equality and maintain social, economic and political power for women.

Projects

Two current projects focus on the Forum's efforts to develop potential leaders:

The Young Adult Leadership Award
This annual award honors a young North Carolinian, female or male, between the ages of 21 and 30, who has demonstrated leadership in improving the lives of North Carolinians, especially female.

The NC Center for Women in Public Service
Founded in June 2003, as a collaboration of the Forum and Peace College, the Center is the first organization in the state to address the urgent need for women-specific recruitment, training, and mentoring to increase the number of women in appointed and elected office.
For more about the center or for an application form for one of its programs, please see www.nccwps.org

In addition the Forum furthers its goals by positioning its members for seats on public and private boards and commissions and by supporting NC Women United, a consensus based coalition empowering women's public policy efforts.
