ElderGospel is a program of fun and fellowship, spiritual growth and learning, for the elders of the parish. All who consider themselves elders are welcome. Activities range from monthly shared meals to seasonal book studies to out-of-town adventures in the spring and fall.

Dinner outings usually take place on the third Sunday of the month. Elders gather at the church at 5:30 pm and go out to a local restaurant (at their own expense). The evening includes the option of returning to the church for the 8 pm service of Compline, sung by the parish Compline Choir.

Seasonal book studies have included Jean Marie Thibault’s  A Deepening Love Affair: The Gift of God in Later Life, and A Gospel for the Mature Years, by Harold Koenig and Holy Family parishioners Betty and Tracy Lamar.

Out-of-town trips and retreats to the mountains, to the National Cathedral, or to the beaches of North Carolina are a great source of fellowship, and in many ways serve as a cornerstone to the ElderGospel experience.

Those interested in participating or in learning more are encouraged to contact the church office.
