-Hosted by SNCA members Ruth Bryan and Lynn Eaton (We'll be there the whole
time, so don't be shy; come on out.)  Everyone is welcome, even
non-archivists.
-The main floor of the bar is non-smoking, while smoking is permitted on
the patio and in "The Cellar" (where you can also get a beer and play some
pool, if that's more your style.)

>From Raleigh Take I-40 West towards Chapel Hill/Durham. Take exit
270(15-501). Go left at top of the ramp. You are on 15-501 South towards
Chapel Hill. Once over I-40, start counting traffic lights. After 4th light
the road forks: bear right on to Franklin St. Stay on Franklin St. up the
long hill. Go past Planetarium and UNC campus on left. Next go through
downtown area (2 pedestrian cross walks). Go through main intersection of
Franklin and Columbia Streets. Go through next light, West End Wine Bar is
on the right (after McDonalds on your left). It is right across the street
from 411 West, and 2 doors down from the Carolina Brewery if that helps.

>From Pittsboro Take 15-501 North towards Chapel Hill. 15-501 turns into
Columbia Street at the bridge intersecting 15-501 and 54. Continue up
Columbia St. past Memorial Hospital on right, past Carolina Inn on left
(campus will be on your right). When you pass Carolina Inn, get in left
lane. Make a left at next intersection, Columbia and Franklin. Go through
next light, West End Wine Bar is on the right (after McDonalds on your
left). It is right across the street from 411 West, and 2 doors down from
the Carolina Brewery if that helps.  Also right beside Elaine's.

>From Greensboro Take 1-85 North to I-40 East (at Hillsborough). Take Exit
266 (says Hwy. 86 / Chapel Hill). Go right at top of the ramp. Go straight
4.03 miles. Turn right on West Franklin Street.(you will be at the main
intersection of town). Go through the next light. West End Wine Bar is on
the right (after McDonalds on your left). It is right across the street
from 411 West, and 2 doors down from the Carolina Brewery if that helps.
Also right beside Elaine's.


Parking Options On-street metered parking always available, (meters are
checked 8:00am-6:00pm ? so that should be fine). Municipal lot next door to
411 West is also metered and are checked from 8:00am -6:00pm
Monday-Saturday. The bar is within walking distance from other lots on the
West End ? there seemed to be a good deal on the side of the road with 411.
The bar is within a 5 or 10 minute walk from the main part of Franklin
Street.  There is free parking in the Morehead Planetarium lot, as well as
behind the art museum on campus.  You can get there by taking a left onto
Columbia as it intersects with Franklin.  Then take a left onto Cameron (at
this light, there are brick pillars as you enter campus).  The art museum
parking lot is the first road/lot on your left.

There is also a UNC lot on W. Rosemary Street right behind the bar ? if you
drive past the West End Wine Bar and take a right at your first street, and
then take a right onto Rosemary, the lot will be on the right shortly after
you turn.  This is free all day on Saturdays, so if you come early for
shopping that may be a good place to go.  If you park there, you can walk
through the little park at the head of the parking lot and go straight onto
Franklin Street.  The bar will be a couple of doors down on your right.
