National Organizations
This is the main site for the organization. It has very well organized information about PFLAG in a National Level.

PFLAG offers support group meetings, community education and advocacy opportunities in over 460 communities across the United States. Follow 'this link' to find a chapter near you.

CommUNITY 2000 is a national collaboration among the Leadership Conference Education Fund, the National Fair Housing Alliance, and local advocacy groups in Boston, Chicago, San Diego, and North Carolina's Triangle Region, designed to catalyze community response to housing-related hate activity and tensions.

Children of Lesbians and Gays Everywhere (COLAGE) is the only national and international organization in the world specifically supporting young people with gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender parents.

Coalitions for Inclusive Scouting are grassroots organizations all around the US that are dedicated to fostering discussion and education about the current state of the scouting program in the United States. They have formed in response to the discriminatory practices of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA, Inc.) with respect to religion and sexual orientation, and include both individuals and organizations who want to find ways to both support the scouting program, and to make the benefits that scouting has to offer equally available to all youth.

LLEGO is a National Latina/o Lesbian, Gay Bisexual & Transgender Organization. It is the only national nonprofit organization devoted to organize Latina/o Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) communities on a local, regional, national and international level, addressing the need to overcome social, health, and political barriers faced due to sexual orientation, gender identity and ethnic background.

National Gay & Lesbian Task Force is the national progressive organization working for the civil rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people, with the vision and commitment to building a powerful political movement.

The National Youth Advocacy Coalition is a social justice organization that advocates for and with young people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning (LGBTQ) in an effort to end discrimination against these youth and to ensure their physical and emotional well being.

Partners Against Hate is a collaboration among the Anti-Defamation League, the Leadership Conference Education Fund, and the Center for the Prevention of Hate Violence. The Straight Spouse Network puts state and country contacts put straight spouses and partners in touch with one another and provide resources to help them cope constructively.

A Web project of the Southern Poverty Law Center, Tolerance.org encourages people from all walks of life to "fight hate and promote tolerance."

The mission of The Safe Schools Coalition: A Public-Private Partnership in Support of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Youth is to help schools - at home and all over the world - become safe places where every family can belong, where every educator can teach, and where every child can learn, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation.

Scouting For All's mission is to get the Boy Scouts of America to rescind its policy of discrimination against gay youth and adults.

The Sexuality Information and Education Council of the U.S. (SIECUS) is a national, nonprofit organization which affirms that sexuality is a natural and healthy part of living. Incorporated in 1964, SIECUS develops, collects, and disseminates information, promotes comprehensive education about sexuality, and advocates the right of individuals to make responsible sexual choices.

Soulforce.org is a national organization seeking justice for God's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered children through a network of friends learning Nonviolence through Gandhi and King.


State Organizations
Asians and Friends of North Carolina (AFNC) is a non-profit organization founded in 1999 by some gay and lesbian Asians and non-Asians in the Triangle. AFNC is dedicated to bring together Asians, Asian-Americans, and non-Asians interested in developing an understanding and appreciation of Asian cultures, to foster and promote an increased understanding between gay and lesbian Asians and non-Asians, and to create friendship through cultural, social and educational activities.

Equality NC is a statewide organization dedicated to securing equality and justice for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people.

NC Pride contains information about North Carolina's Annual Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgendered Pride Parade and Festival, as well as a directory of participating organizations in North Carolina.

NCLYN - North Carolina Lambda Youth Network is a youth-led statewide leadership development network for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and allied (lgbta) young people, ages 13 to 24.

NC Covenant for Children is a coalition of over 100 organizations committed to advancing public policy to benefit North Carolina's children.

Reconcilement is located in Durham, this is part of a national network of gay and lesbian evangelical Christians and friends. A non-profit organization founded in 1975 by Dr. Ralph Blair, EC this national organization has served the gay community for a quarter century, providing hope, encouragement, teaching and fellowship to women and men seeking to integrate their faith and sexual orientation.

Reconciling United Methodists and Friends of North Carolina - Church We seek to make the United Methodist Church inclusive of its gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender brothers and sisters.


Triangle Organizations
The Crape Myrtle Festival is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization, which has raised over $650,000 for HIV/AIDS and other health concerns of the Triangle gay and lesbian community, ranks as one of the top fund raisers in the Research Triangle area.

Duke Center for LGBT Life is a Center for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Life (Center for LGBT Life) that provides education, advocacy, support, and space for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, and straight-allied students, staff, and faculty at Duke, as well as alumni/ae and members of neighboring communities.

Eternalhopenc.org is An organization to increase the understanding and advancement of the human condition through information and resources in hopes to create a better understanding of diversity in the Franklin-Vance-Granville County areas.

GLSEN Triangle is a regional chapter of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, the leading national organization fighting to end anti-gay harassment and discrimination leveled against students and school personnel in K-12 schools. NC GALA and the NC GALA Institute for Equal Rights. NC GALA is a professional organization of North Carolina LGBT attorneys. It provides services, including referrals and advice, to LGBT persons. NC GALA Institute for Equal Rights is an affiliated organization that provides research support on law and policy as they affect critical LGBT issues.

Project Safe provides a safe environment for all NC State students, faculty and staff. To achieve this mission, Project SAFE is working to create a climate where GLB issues can be openly discussed and appropriate referrals made to other university and community support services. By serving as advocates for individuals who are dealing with GLB issues, Project SAFE members are striving to promote understanding and acceptance of all members of the NC State University community.

Important Organizations
Family Acceptance This website is written by parents for parents. It is about a Fayette County (GA) couple who found little help when their son told them he was gay. Now they reach out to others with a message of acceptance and understanding.

Families Joined by Love is a comprehensive bookstore, resource center, and discussion community for LGBT families and the important people in their lives. We have created this sophisticated new resource for LGBT families in response to a growing need within the LGBT community for information and literature on topics related to parenting, adoption, legal and financial issues, and other areas of interest for current and prospective LGBT parents. Despite the ever-growing number of children in need of adoption worldwide, and the increasing cost-effectiveness of fertility treatments, LGBT individuals and couples are often viewed as unsuitable candidates for parenthood.

Human Rights Campaign is a web site with the latest on national political issues affecting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans, this is the place to be. It's here where you will learn what's happening and just how easy it is to take action.

Interfaith Working Group is a good starting point for learning about gay rights, reproductive freedom, the separation of church and state, and the diversity of religious opinion. They also maintain a regularly updated summary of current debates on these issues, and a page of links organized by religious tradition.

New Ways Ministry provides a gay-positive ministry of advocacy and justice for lesbian and gay Catholics and reconciliation within the larger Christian and civil communities.
