The Advocate's new web site, in the works for months,
is ready to launch.
The process may take a couple of days
during which the web site will be off-line. |
The Advocate - An Episcopal church
where tradition, liturgy and reason
meet compassion, justice and transformation
The
Episcopal Church of the Advocate is the new Episcopal
church in Orange County, North Carolina, launched on September
21, 2003.
We
are currently meeting for worship at the Chapel
Hill Kehillah on Sundays at 5 p.m.
We
are committed to reaching out to those who do
not have a church home and who may not be drawn
to a more traditional time or place or formality
for worship.
Following
the witness and ministry of Jesus, we strive to
practice radical hospitality, though we know it
is hard to do.
We
affirm, and welcome to our community and worship
life, people of every kind of household and every
stage of life and faith and doubt.
We
are committed to working for peace and justice
in the world in which we live.
In
short, we hope to be a place where people discover
both the comfort and the challenge of Christian
faith.
