Overview
North Carolina Women United will hold Women's Advocacy Day on Tuesday, March
4, 2003. This will be a meeting of women from across the state in the General
Assembly Auditorium at the NC Legislative Building, 16 West Jones Street, Raleigh.
The program will feature legislators and community members speaking on the
top five issues that emerged from the Women's Agenda Assemblies around the state
in the last few months:

sections of the Draft Agenda. Please also browse the information in that document
on the other eight topics: all are important.

The day will start with a breakfast and an advocacy skills training session
at Peace College.

- If you want a box lunch, send a check for $10 by Feb. 27.
- If you wish to talk to your legislators, call them to set up appointments.

To register as an individual, there are three versions of the registration
form:
- Online form
(strongly preferred). You'll get a confirmation slip to print and enclose with
your check.
- PDF version (this requires the free Adobe
Acrobat reader) and is suitable for printing and redistribution at meetings.
- MS Word version (that you
may wish to customize if you are redistributing it to others)

Registration information will be available after the Feb. 7 program committee
meeting.

Background
The activities of Advocacy Day will be based on the Women's Agenda that was
developed in the Women's Agenda Assemblies this fall and winter. Check out the

more about the agenda assembly process.
Accommodations
There is a block of 15 rooms at the Clarion Hotel State Capitol, 320 Hillsborough
St., Raleigh for this event. The cost of a double room (including breakfast and
parking) is $65.00 plus 13% tax. Make your own reservations at (919) 832-0501.
After Feb. 27, the remaining rooms in the block will be released. The $65 rate
will be provided to late registrants if rooms are available.
