NCSBA AUCTION (Silent Auction) This
auction is a fund raiser for the NCSBA’s Apiculture Science Fund which
is used to support bee research at N.C. State University. Current research
projects include: nonchemical control of Varroa mites, and the affect of
small hive beetles on bees and control of the pest.
You can support this fund in one of two ways. Either purchase some of
the items for sale or donate an appropriate item for the auction. Donated
auction items can be either bee related items or items of general interest
to beekeepers and their spouses at the Summer convention. If you itemize
your taxes then you can take a tax deduction. You can obtain a receipt for
that amount after the auction. The auction will be a silent auction - no auctioneer. Items will be placed on tables with cards for
"written" bids. You can bid anytime from the start of the
meeting until the break on Saturday morning.
