From the West (Chapel Hill/Durham/_-440/CaryRDU Airport):
From Route 40 (eastbound) follow Wade Avenue (Exit 289). Follow Wade avenue towards downtown Raleigh (passing the Arena on your right) and pass under Route 440 (the Beltline). Continue down the residential section of Wade Avenue, passing Faircloth ST, Dixie TR, Brooks ST, Gardener ST, and Chamberlain ST. Off Wade Ave., take Oberlin Road south (to the right). The ramp for Oberlin Road is marked "Cameron Village" (a shopping center). Take your fourth right onto Bedford ST. Then take your first left onto Tower ST. Raleigh Friends Meeting is the second house on your right (with a big white sign). Except during weekday business hours it is OK to park across the street in the large, paved lot. Link to maps.
From the North (including North Raleigh, Wake Forest):
Take the Outer Beltline (Route 440) counter-clockwise around Raleigh. Take the second Wade Avenue exit (Exit 4 eastbound). Continue down the residential section of Wade Avenue, passing Faircloth ST, Dixie TR, Brooks ST, Gardener ST, and Chamberlain ST. Off Wade Ave., take Oberlin Road south (to the right). The ramp for Oberlin Road is marked "Cameron Village" (a shopping center). Take your fourth right onto Bedford ST. Then take your first left onto Tower ST. From Cary, NCSU, or the center of Raleigh:
From Hillsborough ST coming from Cary or NCSU or downtown Raleigh, take Oberlin RD north. Turn left at Everett Ave., just past the Cameron Village Post Office. Turn 1st right on Tower ST. The Meeting House is on your left near the end of the block. Except during weekday business hours it is OK to park across the street in the large, paved lot. Link to maps.
From the Southwest (Sanford, Apex, Cary):
From Route 64 (eastbound) and Route 1 (northbound) continue straight into Raleigh on the Claude E. Pope Memorial Highway. This becomes Route 440 ("Inner" Beltline). Pass (and ignore) the exits for 40, Western Boulevard, and Hillsborough ST. Watch carefully, stay to the right and take the Wade Avenue exit IMMEDIATEDLY AFTER the on-ramp from Hillsborough street. Take a right onto Wade Avenue at the traffic light at the end of the off-ramp. Continue down the residential section of Wade Avenue, passing Faircloth ST, Dixie TR, Brooks ST, Gardener ST, and Chamberlain ST. Take the ramp on your right marked "Cameron Village" (a shopping center) and turn right (south) onto Oberlin ST. Follow Oberlin ST south. Take your fourth right onto Bedford ST. From the South and East of Ralieigh (including Garner, Knightdale, & Zebulon):
Take the Inner Beltline (from Routes 40/440 West) and continue on Route 440 (still the Inner Beltline) when 40 splits off. Pass (and ignore) the exits for Western Boulevard and Hillsborough ST. Watch carefully, stay to the right and take the Wade Avenue exit IMMEDIATEDLY AFTER the on-ramp from Hillsborough street. Those coming on Route 64 from Zebulon and Knightdale who are familiar with Raleigh may choose to take New Bern AV west through Raleigh toward Hillsborough ST, linking up with the directions given immediately below:
From Central Raleigh (the Capital Building):
Take Hillsborough ST west past Glenwood Avenue and the St. Mary's campus (on your right) to Oberlin RD. (That's before you get to the NC State bell tower.) Take a right onto Oberlin RD. Continue north past Clark AV, passing most of Cameron Village shopping center on your right. Go left onto Everett AV and then your first right onto Tower ST. Raleigh Friends Meeting is the next to last house on the block, on your left. Except during weekday business hours it is OK to park across the street in the large, paved lot. Link to maps.
Short-Cut used by Many Frequent Attenders:
Follow the directions given above, except continue on Oberlin RD to 625 Oberlin RD. Look for a sign that says "Bernie Batchelor, Photographer." Take either of the two driveways up the hill into a large paved parking area. Park on the opposite side from where you entered. Raleigh Friends Meeting is across Tower ST from the Parking Lot. By coincidence it happens to have the same address number (625 Tower ST) as the Oberlin ST address where you entered the parking lot from Oberlin RD. Link to maps.
