Membership Benefits

Network: EENC is the place to be! Environmental educators in-the-know recognize that EENC membership offers professionals in the field a multitude of opportunities to network with others, share information, participate in workshops, and learn of statewide activities for professional development. A directory of members willing to share their expertise with other members is published annually. As North Carolina's official state affiliate to the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE), EENC offers its members opportunities to network with environmental educators from across the country and the world.

Training: Mark your calendar! Every year EENC conducts a statewide conference that immerses members in learning about a special eco-region of our state. The 2-3 day agenda is jam-packed with professional workshops, concurrent sessions, keynote speakers, and experiential field trips that cover current environmental issues, updates on the EE profession, and many other aspects of environmental education - from curriculum integration to natural history to pedagogy. Throughout the year, EENC’s three sections conduct special environmental education events including informal get-togethers, behind-the-scenes tours, professional development retreats, and family weekends. A great way to have fun while you learn!

Communications: Four seasons…four issues! EENC News Notes is EENC’s quarterly newsletter that provides a vehicle for members to share professional development tips and opportunities throughout the calendar year. The EENC web page is an additional resource for information on membership, the annual conference, board nominations, and upcoming environmental education events - all instantly accessible and “paper-free.”

Event Discounts: EENC membership is always a great deal! EENC members participate in the EENC Annual Conference and all other EENC events throughout the year at a discounted rate. When events are over-enrolled, EENC members receive first priority.

Active Involvement: EENC invites input! EENC encourages members to have "ownership" of their professional organization by serving on EENC's Board of Directors, or one of 6 standing committees: Communications, Education, Membership, Partnership, Policy, and Resource Development. EENC is an all-volunteer organization run by environmental educators for environmental educators. Sign up today!
