Hi Everyone!

Last month, I expressed hope that there would be sufficient snow in February and early March to allow everyone to continue skiing. Well, in West Virginia that isn't a concern anymore. It has snowed here for most of the month, and this weekend, another huge storm rolled through the state. There is PLENTY of snow at all of West Virginia's ski resorts so head north for some great skiing. Meanwhile, here's the latest report on CSC activities.

TRIPS
CSC's final trip of the season is Silvercreek (WV) the weekend of March 5th. Linda Redd, Local Trips Coordinator, is handling it. If you haven't registered for this trip, you are missing the best conditions that Snowshoe & Silvercreek have reported in decades! I don't know whether Linda can arrange any additional lodging at this late date, but if you are interested, contact her ASAP at lindaelkview@aol.com.

Plans continue for the 2010 - 2011 season. Steamboat Ski and Race Camp is December 4 - 11, 2010, and I know individuals who already have made their airline reservations! In 2011, there will be two Crescent week-long trips: Taos (New Mexico) in January and Snow Basin / Powder Mountain (Utah) in March. Both of these trips will be rolled out at the Spring Convention.

CONVENTIONS
The Spring Convention will be held at Kingston Plantation, North Myrtle Beach, SC, April 22 - 25, 2010. Please remember to adhere to deadlines; it makes Michelle's life less stressful. Club registration and lodging forms are under Conventions on CSC's web site. As more details become available, they will be posted on the web so keep watching. Michelle hasn't told me the Saturday night party theme so I'm not sure whether that has been decided. If you have any great ideas, send them to her at skibumlong@aol.com.

RACING
The Crescent Cup race will be held March 6 & 7 at Silvercreek in conjunction with CSC's final trip (see TRIPS).

Don't forget to take advantage of the Subaru VIP program. If you have any questions concerning the program, contact your Crescent Race Director or Ron Scott, CSC's Race Director, rscott013@nc.rr.com.

MEMBER SERVICES
The annual Newsletter competition held at the Spring Convention has been discontinued. Most of the clubs have moved to an electronic newsletter or have found other electronic means of routinely communicating with their members. Web site and scrapbook judging will continue, and competition is expected to remain fierce.

Please remember to send all changes in your officers, committee chairs, and BOD reps, as well as any changes in email addresses, to Bruce McMurray, CSC's database coordinator, at snowdawgasoc@bellsouth.net

ADMINISTRATIVE
Crescent officers will be elected at the Spring Convention BOD meeting. I encourage everyone to become more active in Crescent and volunteer for an office or committee position. If you are interested in running for office or assisting a committee, please contact Margaret Jordan, Past President, at magjordan@msn.com. Deadline for submitting names is March 20, 2010.

That's it for February's update. Have fun skiing and be careful traveling to West Virginia and other ski destinations!
