Next Step Committee

The Long-Range Plan Next Step Committee is responsible for carrying out the recommendations of the parish Long-Range Plan submitted to the vestry in May 2004.

The committee will review the Long-Range Plan recommendations and:

  • Propose a plan for the most effective means of implementation
  • Establish and monitor an implementation timetable for the various recommendations
  • Facilitate the hiring and direct the work of consultants for design [for a feasibility study] and fund-raising campaign
  • Call on the Long-Range Planning Committee subcommittees for expert advice as required.

The chair of the committee will report to the rector and senior warden and will make periodic reports to the vestry.

Ted Vaden is designated to serve as chair, with the other members to be appointed by the rector and wardens in consultation with the chair. The rector, senior warden, Hospitality Committee chair, Program Review Committee chair, and treasurer are ex-officio members.

Capital Giving Committee

The charge of the Capital Giving Committee is to oversee a feasibility study of the readiness of the parish to engage in a capital campaign, to recommend to the vestry about a specific goal and timetable, and also to make recommendations of the chair and membership of a Capital Campaign Steering Committee.

(from March 2006 vestry minutes)

Program Review Committee

The Program Review Committee is to rigorously assess what we are/aren't doing well as a parish with special attention to the areas considered core values:

  • Hospitality
  • Education
  • Outreach
  • Ecumenism
  • Evangelism

The committee should address program redundancy and obsolescence, identify gaps, and recommend alternatives.

The Program Review Committee should ask clergy, staff, and volunteer leaders:

  • How does this program advance the vision and values laid out in the Long-Range Plan?
  • How does this program support the formation of a Christian life?
  • How does this program respond to the changing demographics of the community?

(from Nancy Tunnessen, committee chair)

Current committee membership: Nancy Tunnessen (chair), David Dodson, Susan Palmore, Neil Pedersen, Jeannie Riek, Melody Savage (vestry), Rob Sullivan.
