RTPnet is a volunteer-driven membership-based service of Public Information Network, Inc. dedicated to helping North Carolina nonprofit organizations leverage Internet tools to promote and support their missions.

Our special focus is North Carolina and its Research Triangle but we will serve eligible users anywhere.

Public Information Network, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation incorporated in August 1990, doing business as RTPnet, and previously known as Triangle Free-Net.

...if we focus our efforts to empower the organizations and institutions that make up the community infrastructure serving our low-income areas, we can close gaps not simply in access to technology, but in access to opportunity itself.

Recognize and honor individuals, organizations, institutions, and businesses that have made significant contributions to North Carolina communities in the area of information and computer technology.

For example:

Purpose: RTPnet is initiating Community Technology Awards to recognize and honor those who have made significant contributions to North Carolina communities in the area of information and computer technology.

Who is eligible? Any individual, organization, institution, or business that has made significant contributions to North Carolina communities in the area of information and computer technology is eligible for an RTPnet Community Technology Award. You may nominate yourself or your organization.

Categories:

Note: If in the opinion of the judges there are no meritorious nominations in a category, there will not be an award in that category.

Where and when will awards be presented? The RTPnet Community Technology Awards Reception will be held as part of RTPnet's 5th Annual Conference: Bridging North Carolina's Digital/Human Divide, March 19, 2004, 5:00-6:00 PM, at The William and Ida Friday Center for Continuing Education in Chapel Hill. [Directions to the Friday Center].

Nomination form: The nomination form is available at www.rtpnet.org/awards/form.html.

Deadline: Nominations must be received by February 23, 2004.
