- Introductions
- Approval of Minutes
- Welcome from Mr. Lee Young, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management and Director of Admissions.
- Treasurers Report submitted from Penny Augustine (attached). We lost money on the conference, but not as much as anticipated.
- Board members signed up for the following committees:
- Awards Committee: Carolyn Jackson (Chair), Phyllis Cole
- Conference Chair: Esther Powell (Chair), Penny Augustine, Jacolyn Campbell, Veronica Ford, LeNelle Patrick (to accept registration forms)

- Discussion of conference. The conference rotates from the coast to the center of the state to the western part of the state. It will be in Winston-Salem this year, tentatively September 26-28. A list of suggested topics from last years evaluations was distributed (attached). Will do silent auction again. Need to specify starting bids. Suggestion that we bring used professional clothes rather than doing a t-shirt swap and donate them to the Clothes Closet at the Womens Resource Center at Forsyth Technical Community College.
- Discussion of By-Laws. The By-Laws need to be refined (copy attached).
- Veronica will send a list of officers and board members to the board.
- Web site: needs to be updated with list of officers and board members.
- Archive: Deborah Pruett is our historian. There is a record of our activities in an archive at the UNC Chapel Hill library. The archive has not been updated in five years and needs to be brought up to date.
- Membership invoices will be going out shortly. Checks should be made payable to NCAEA.
- Discussion of one-day session in conjunction with next board meeting in April at UNCG. Suggested topic: Math Anxiety.
- Discussion of potential future direction included the following topics:
- Where are we going?
- Where is adult education going?
- Publish an article
- Get Community Colleges more involved
- Joint conference with other organizations
- Do a service project in conjunction with the conference to let our presence be known.
