The Youth Summer Mission Trip to Sewanee, TN, is scheduled for July 13-19. Twenty-four 9th–12th grade youth will be working in a variety of outreach activities. All are invited to become mission trip “stockholders”. The trip’s participants will offer a presentation on August 24 between the 9:00 and 11:15 am services.

Dinner on the Grounds is scheduled for Sundays, June 22, July 27, and August 17 following the conclusion of the 10:00 am service. Participants are asked to bring a dish to serve themselves and a few others.
Responding to Climate Change: Faith, Science and Action, will be held on Saturday, August 23, 9:30 – 3:00, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Parish in Durham. Keynote speakers are Dr. William Chameides, Dean of the Nicholas School for the Environment at Duke University and Dr. Ellen Davis, Professor of Biblical Studies at Duke Divinity School.
Godly Play Training Sessions are scheduled for September 11-13. Registration information is available from Christian Education Assistant, Boykin Bell.
The Annual Parish BBQ is scheduled for Holy Cross Day, Sunday, September 14, at the conclusion of the 5:15 pm service. This parish event serves to welcome new parishioners and university students to the parish and its campus ministry programs, to reunite parishioners who have been away during the summer, and to herald the start-up of parish programs for the academic year. In addition, this fall’s BBQ will provide an opportunity to learn more about A Light on the Hill: Building to Serve, the parish’s plans to create additional space for our many ministries. Tickets will be available in mid-August.
The parish is planning a Mission Trip to the Gulf Coast in November to Mission on the Bay, in Bay St. Louis. Missioners will be working with Carolina Connection, a group of Carolina churches including St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Hillsborough and St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Durham.
